Commissioned student coverage on Inderes
Inderes was born outside the industry, from our passion for investing. We were once the students who challenged the industry cabinets. Now we want to find new players to challenge us. Every investor needs independent analysis, informed views and a steady flow of investor information that cuts through the clutter. We are now looking for fresh contributors to push us further. Will you be one of them?
Here's what we want you to do:
Pitch the best initiation of coverage on Inderes as a company. The team with the best pitch gets to provide publicly available equity research of Inderes’ stock for one year, for which Inderes will pay €10,000.
In the analysis, you should take into account the company's business model, current business performance, strategy, target markets, financial situation and balance sheet structure, valuation level, risks and outlook.
Register by October 31, 2024. Registered participants will be invited to our information session in early November. You can enter the competition as a team of 1–3 students. We don’t care what phase you are in your studies, or what your major is, as long as you are still a student and want to take this opportunity to both learn and get recognition in the industry.
The deadline for the Initiation of coverage pitches is December 31, 2024, and the best entries will be invited to present their work to the jury. The jury will be led by Petri Gostowski, Co-Head of Research at Inderes, accompanied by Kaisa Vanha-Perttula, Antti Järvenpää, Miikka Laitila and Tuulikki Rautiainen.
The jury value the following features in the winning pitch entry:
-
Quality: Well-informed views and analysis that includes forecasts, target price and recommendation. The research should have balance in short- and long-term perspectives. There are no right or wrong views, but there are well (or poorly) argued ones.
-
Independence: the research is made for the investors, not the company.
-
Passion: We value work that shows a love of the craft, a spirit of experimentation and innovative energy.
-
The format for the Initiation of coverage and the coverage itself is free, as long as it can be distributed digitally. The pitch may be in English or Finnish.
The teams' analyses will be presented at an event organized by Inderes in January. Each team will have about 30 minutes to pitch, of which about 10 minutes will be for questions and discussion. Depending on the number of participants, we will select the most promising work (max. 5) to pitch.
The winner will be selected in early 2025 and the team will be notified personally. The names of the participants will not be published, but the names of the winners will be published when they start their coverage.
After the winner is announced, the winning team has an opportunity to finalize the initiation of coverage report before it is made public. The team will also have access to Inderes’ management for interviews.
Coverage updates will be published on Inderes' channels for one year. We expect the team to produce research that keeps the investors updated and serves their information needs. Throughout the year, the winning team will also have access to Inderes' management and team of experts for advice on analysis methods or publication formats.
