North Media (One-pager): Expansion to Sweden via SDR Svensk Direktreklam acquisition
North Media recently published its full-year 2023 results. North Media took a significant step towards its Scandinavian ambitions with the acquisition of SDR Svensk Direktreklam in December 2023, Sweden’s largest distributor of unaddressed leaflets. The year saw revenues fall 4.6% with an EBIT margin compression of 3.3 percentage points against a backdrop of lower printed matter volumes, adversely affected by high paper prices in H1 2023, and consolidation among retailers. The company also outlined its greater international ambitions, pursuing a Scandinavian footprint in markets where attractive acquisitions with synergy potential can be found.
