Skanska upgrades railway stations in southern Slovakia for EUR 40M, about SEK 460M
Skanska has signed a contract with The Railway of the Slovak Republic for the modernization of Levice and Veľké Kozmálovce railway stations in southern Slovakia. The contract is worth EUR 40M, about SEK 460M, which will be included in the order bookings for Europe for the first quarter 2025.
The project will include modernization of two railway stations with total 5 kilometers of new tracks, installing 41 new switches and new station security systems. Skanska will build barrier-free platforms and new crossroads. The contract also shares building an integrated workplace for remote control of the traffic and upgrade of the catenary lines.
Once completed, the modernization will bring train speed increase, safer traffic and new platforms with barrier-free access.
Work will start in January 2025 and the construction period is 12 months.
