The Norwegian authorities have decided to increase the IRB risk weight floor for
mortgage loans from 20 to 25 percent. Implementation of the CRR3 regulations is
expected soon.
The changes to the IRB risk weight floor will take effect from July 1, 2025. At
the same time, the Norwegian Ministry of Finance is working to ensure that the
CRR3 regulations, which come into effect on January 1, 2025 in the EU, can be
implemented in Norway as soon as possible.
The change in the IRB risk weight floor, along with implementation of the CRR3
regulations, will reduce the CET1 ratio by approximately 0.5 percentage points
in SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge.
The calculation is based on SpareBank 1 Sør-Norge's pro forma figures from
October 1, 2024, including the mortgage loans from SpareBank 1 Sørøst-Norge
transferred to SpareBank 1 Boligkreditt.
