Rejlers wins contract from the Swedish Transport Administration to future-proof Vänersborg Central Station
Rejlers has been commissioned by the Swedish Transport Administration to future-proof Vänersborg Central Station through an extensive capacity and function improvement project. The project aims to enable simultaneous operation of three trains and new platforms.
The project includes a total reconstruction of the track system and new platforms to increase the station's capacity and create a safer environment for passengers. The work will also help to ensure that new safety requirements are met and make Vänersborg Central Station ready for the future.
Rejlers is responsible for design, including surveying of the existing facility, geotechnical investigations and environmental assurance. Rejlers also designs the facility and prepares tender documents for the Swedish Transport Administration's procurement of the construction contract. The first phase will start this autumn and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2026, with construction scheduled to start in 2027.
During the contract period, Rejlers will follow up the work on site as a designer and inspector to ensure that the project is carried out according to plan and without negative environmental impact. When the construction is completed, final drawings will be drawn up for future management.
- This project is an important step in the development of Vänersborg's infrastructure and we look forward to contributing to creating a more efficient, safe and accessible central station for all passengers, says Anel Bajramovic, Business Area Manager, Railway.
