NEW CEO JOHAN SANDBERG STARTS TODAY
SeaTwirl's new CEO Johan Sandberg begins his employment at the company today.
On November 9th, SeaTwirl announced that Johan Sandberg had been appointed CEO. Johan has worked with floating wind power since 2009 in different roles at DNV and Aker, and has during that time amassed a wealth of both experience and industry contacts.
"I am very pleased that we have recruited Johan Sandberg as CEO of SeaTwirl. He has broad experience from different commercial and technical roles within the offshore wind industry and will contribute with his understanding of the market, deep domain area expertise and international network of contacts in floating wind that he brings from his earlier roles. He is also an energetic and inspiring leader, which is something we value," says Dan Friberg, Board Chairman.
"The SeaTwirl team has truly been thinking outside of the box, developing a vertical axis wind turbine on a rotating substructure, a technology that could play a very important role in the future energy landscape. We have an incredibly exciting journey ahead of us, proving the technology and commercialising it well before 2030. I cannot wait to get started," says Johan Sandberg, CEO of SeaTwirl.
Outgoing CEO Peter Laurits will continue at the company in a different role.

About SeaTwirl
SeaTwirl AB (publ) is a Swedish energy-tech company in offshore wind power with the vision to become a leading global supplier to floating wind farms. SeaTwirl's unique floating vertical-axis wind turbine has a low centre of gravity which means it uses less steel for the floater than conventional floating solutions. The ambition is also to be able to use more local supply-chains, to have lower maintenance costs, larger rotating mass, lower blade erosion, and to be able to place the turbines more tightly together, which contributes to a better economy for the wind farm. The company's first prototype was installed in the sea in 2015. Development is now taking place on S2x, a prototype with a 1 MW turbine, and the commercial scale SX. The company is listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market since 2016. Read more at: https://seatwirl.com
