Viscaria prepares presentation of Feasibility Study and Resource Update for spring 2025
Viscaria today announces that the Feasibility Study (FS) and Resource Update will be presented in April 2025. This is a natural step given the ongoing permitting process, where an appeal to the Supreme Court is affecting the timeline. This allows further refinement of the Feasibility Study, as well as continued assessment of the potential at depth through an ongoing drilling program.
The permit for mining and water activities at the Viscaria mine was granted by the Land and Environment Court on May 6, 2024. The Environmental Court of Appeal’s (MÖD) decision on November 6, 2024, to not grant leave to appeal the Land and Environment Court’s permit was appealed on December 4, 2024, by the Gabna Sami village to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court granted the Gabna Sami village an extension to develop the grounds for their appeal until December 27, 2024. The Supreme Court will then decide whether the appeal should be considered or not.
“We are working intensively to ensure a robust Feasibility Study and updated resource estimates to strengthen the foundation of the project. Additionally, the ongoing exploration campaign continues to deliver exciting results with each drill hole, and this extended period will allow for a total of approximately 20,000 m drilling to be completed over winter with five rigs. These findings will allow us to better assess the growth potential of the deposit at depth and outline an extension to the initial life of mine,” said Jörgen Olsson, CEO of Viscaria.
“As we are dependent on the environmental permit becoming final before we can proceed with the next step in the financing, we plan to present the Feasibility Study and resource update in April 2025, which also reflects our responsibility to follow the ongoing permitting processes," Jörgen Olsson concluded.
