FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces order gensets from W5 Solutions
The defence company W5 Solutions have received orders from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the Swedish Armed Forces for the development and production of gensets to a value of 94 million SEK. The orders are part of the earlier won framework agreement regarding gensets, which has a maximum volume set at 500 million SEK.
On July 9, 2024, W5 Solutions announced that it had won a framework agreement for gensets. The first orders have now been placed, covering 150 generators with a capacity of 10 kVA, along with 100 accompanying transport trailers. The development will take place during 2024 and 2025, with serial deliveries beginning in 2025 and continuing into 2026.
"This order creates significant growth for our business area Power. We see a strong increase in demand for our military power supply solutions, which include everything from gensets to chargers and battery packs," says Joachim Hammersland, Head of Business Area Power at W5 Solutions.
"The gensets from W5 Solutions are developed and produced in Sweden. They are designed to deliver reliable power supply under demanding conditions and meet the defence sector's demanding requirements," says Johan Schmitz, Sales Manager Business Area Power at W5 Solutions.
