Detection Technology är en global lösnings- och tjänsteleverantör av röntgendetektorer för medicinska, säkerhets- och industriella tillämpningar. Bolagets lösningar sträcker sig från sensorkomponenter till optimerade detektorsystem med mikrokretsar, elektronik, mekanik, mjukvara och algoritmer. Bolaget har kontor i Finland, Indien, Kina, Frankrike och USA. Detection Technology grundades 1991 och har sitt huvudkontor i Esbo.

En ymmärrä johtopäätöstäsi, mutta ei, se ei ole muita parempi. Eikä kurssi ole sama kuin arvostustaso, mutta tietysti yhtälöön vaikuttaa näkymät. Jälleen yksi syy, miksi kannattaa mieluummin nojata absoluuttisiin kertoimiin.

Siiskö, se yritys, jonka kurssi alisuoriutuu verrokkiryhmässä, on muita parempi ? Esim. Valmet. Vai johtuisiko metsäteollisuuden huonommista tulevaisuuden näkymistä vs. kaivosteollisuus. Just thinking

Myös Kinnunen raportissa “…emme halua nojata liikaa verrokkiryhmän arvostukseen. Verrokkiryhmä antaa mielestämme viitekehyksen DT:n arvostukselle, mutta yhtiöiden profiilit poikkeavat toisistaan merkittävästi ja ryhmä on varsin hajanainen. Suhteellinen arvostus on siitäkin ongelmallista, että absoluuttinen taso ja sijoittajien tuotto-odotus voivat hämärtyä verratessa arvostusta vain muihin.” Ymmärrän tietysti että DT:n vertaaminen Sectraan ei ole perusteltua, muttei tuota mediaania määritä yksittäinen yhtiö. Harvoilla yhtiöillä on lopulta hyviä verrokkeja, jotka sopivat kaikilta osilta (liiketoiminta / sektori / sijoittajaprofiili). Mielenkiintoista mielestäni tässä tapauksessa on lähinnä se, miten tuo suhteellinen arvostus kehittyy, ja tuo ryhmä on toiminut historiassa ihan hyvin.

DT on pitänyt tuota isoa kassaa jo vuosia. Mihin tuota kassaa hillotaan ja onko sitä tarkoistuskaan laittaa käyttöön lähivuosina?

Suurin osa Sectran liikevaihdosta tulee jatkuvalaskutteisesta Saas bisneksestä. Dt:llä ei liene tätä paljoa, mutta eihän se sinänsä kallis ole,. Olen omistanut jopa 20 eurolla , mutta silloin muutkin suomalaiset oli kalliimpia. Seppo Saariokin oli top 100 listalla, mutta kyllästyi varmaan odottamiseen…

EV/Ebit tällä hetkellä n. 14,5. Mikä on mielestäsi hyväksyttävä arvostuskerroin?

Kinnunen : Kerroin on mielestämme maltillinen suhteessa pidemmän aikavälin kasvunäkymään, ja lähes 30 % alhaisempi kuin verrokkiryhmällä keskimäärin. Verokkiryhmässä on mm.ruotsalainen Sectra, jonka oikeampi kohderyhmä lienee Aiforia ja  joku tietoturvapuolen SSH?. Mutta juu, onhan DT halvempi kuin Aiforia, mutta onko se mikään ostoperuste ?
