Anora Group is a producer of alcoholic beverages. The product portfolio consists of wine and spirits marketed under various brands. The largest operations are found in the Nordics and the Baltics, and the company's products are exported to retailers in Europe and North America. The company was created through a merger of Altia and Arcus in 2021 and has its headquarters in Helsinki.

Onko kurssi laskenut houkuttelevalle tasolle? Lapulla enää 2,8e hintaa ja huonoinpinakin vuosina EPS ollut 0,20-0,25e luokkaa, mutta millä perusteella voidaan odottaa käännettä 25-27 vuosille, niinkuin Inderesin ennusteet odottaa? Mitkä ovat ajurit povatulle tuloskäänteelle? Onko nämä viimeisien vuosien alisuoriutuminen johtunut vain ongelmista, jotka väistyvät? (Ilmeisesti ei kun toimari lähtee??) Olen vasta yhden päivän lueskellut ja katsonut raportteja, joten ymmärrykseni on hyvin vajavaista vielä yhtiöstä. Toivottavasti täältä kuitenkin löytyy pitempään seuranneilta vastauksia lukuisiin kysymyksiini.

Katsoin Q3/24 webcastin ja hämäsi suunnattomasti, kun CEO ja CFO toistivat jatkuvasti EBITDA -lukuja eri segmenteissä. Miksi Anora puhuu mielellään EBITDA:sta ja esityksessä sivuuttivat EBIT -tason luvut? Tulosjulkistus jäi kuulijalle vajaaksi, kun perustietoa jäi “pimeälle puolelle”. Noh, seuraavaksi siirryn toki Q3 -tulostiedotteen kimppuun… Osaako @Rauli_Juva tai joku muu Anoran seuraaja sanoa, onko tässä jokin yhtiöspesiaali syy vai? Edit: Buffettia lainaten  “We won’t buy into companies where someone’s talking about EBITDA. If you look at all companies, and split them into companies that use EBITDA as a metric and those that don’t, I suspect you’ll find a lot more fraud in the former group. Look at companies like Wal-Mart, GE and Microsoft — they’ll never use EBITDA in their annual report."

Koronan jälkeen Norjassa viini haetaan Ruotsista… The volume of wine consumed in Norway has grown by 3 per cent per annum in the last five years. This is largely due to a decline in cross-border purchases made in Sweden during the pandemic and remaining subdued in 2023; this translates to more wine being purchased in the Norwegian alcohol monopoly – Vinmonopolet. Sales are expected stabilise in the next five years. In contrast to the other Nordic markets, Norway has a very high share of wine sales sold in the premium segment (above 128 NOK per bottle). 43 per cent of wine sales are premium, and this share is expected to grow to 45 per cent by 2028. This high share is driven by the affluence of the Norwegian consumer – GDP per capita in 2023 was US$88,000, compared to US$56,000 in Sweden[ Suomi:  Wine has a much lower share of the alcohol market in Finland compared to the other Nordic markets, due to the popularity of beer and RTDs. Unlike Sweden, population growth has not helped to increase the number of wine drinkers – the number of regular wine drinkers declined by 11 per cent between 2017 and 2023.

Markkinoiden laskua voisi ihmetelläkin, jollei tietäisi selitystä…  The decline is as expected considering that society is still normalizing after the pandemic, says Jens Nordahl, press officer at Vinmonopolet.  From experience, we know that Vinmonopolet’s sales decline when there is noticeable growth in cross-border trade and air traffic abroad, says Nordahl.  Eli selitystä nykylaskulle voidaan siis hakea koronasta. Myynti litroissa v. 2019 oli 82,6 mil. litraa ja v. 2023 oli 95,6 mil. litraa. Eli laskuvaraa koronaa edeltäviin lukuihin on vieläkin, ilman että kokonaiskulutuksen suhteen voitaisiin tehdä päätelmiä…Anoran kannalta toki myyntivolyymit on vain yksi osa, toinen osa on myyntihinnat, joissa on nähty korotuksia ja näinollen lienee vaikuttanut hieman kysyntääkin vähentäen.

Laitetaanpa tänne jatkoksi myös joulukuun lukuja. Kehitys olikin joulukuussa selvästi heikompaa Norjassa, jossa markkina tuli alas viineissä 5% ja väkevissä 7%. Joulukuun isojen volyymien takia tämä painoi koko Norjan markkinan Q4:n 2-3 % laskuun. Myös Suomessa joulukuu oli heikko, viinit ja väkevät laskivat noin 12 %, jonka myötä väkevien Q4 tiputus oli noin 9 %. Alkon viinimyynnissä näkyy siirtymä kauppojen 8%-viineihin, joten siitä ei saa kokonaiskuvaa kuten yllä todettu. Ruotsin Q4-lukuja ei ole vielä tarjolla, mutta joulukuun luvut Norjasta ja Suomesta siis veivät Q4:n kuvaa heikompaan suuntaan, joskin arvelisin että yllä mainittuun Anoran volyymiodotukseen ainakin markkinan osalta kuitenkin päästäisiin. Tuotekohtaiset erot ja markkinaosuuksien muutokset (jossa Anora on ollut viime vuosina pikemminkin häviäjä) voivat tietysti tuoda eroja Anoran kehitykseen suhteessa markkinaan. EDIT:  Tuo koski siis Norjaa ja näin tosiaan on. Suomessa sen sijaan on lasketeltu jo selvästi alle 2019 tasojen. Ruotsissa viinien suhteen ollaan about 2019 tasossa, väkevissä yläpuolella. Anoran kannalta on huono asia, että koronasta normalisoituminen painaa edelleen markkinoita alemmas, sillä muutos on todennäköisesti pysyvämpi kuin esim. taloussuhdaanteesta johtuva vaihtelu ja koska se volyymi siirtyy osittain taxfree-kauppaan, jossa Anoran markkinaosuus on monopoliketjuja heikompi.

Alkosta ja Norjan vinmonopoletista on saatu tällä viikolla marraskuun myyntiluvut. Norjassa viinit ja väkevät kasvoivat 1 % marraskuussa, lokakuussa viinit oli +2%, väkevät -1%. Koko vuodelta laskua on molemmissa 4 %, joten kehitys on suhteellisesti parantunut.  Alkossa sekä viinit että väkevät olivat loka-marraskuussa 6-7 % laskussa. Väkevissä lasku on ollut samaa tasoa koko vuoden, viineissähän taas näkyy kesäkuussa kauppoihin tulleet 8 %-viinit, joka näkyy alkon myyntiä laskevana, mutta Anora saa myyntiä myös vähittäiskauppaan. Loka-marraskuun kehitys on molemmilla markkinoilla heikosti mennyttä syyskuuta parempi. Ruotsin systembolaget julkaisee lukuja vain kvartaaleittain. Anora kertoi Q3:n jälkeen ohjeistuksensa (oik. käyttökate 65-70 MEUR) perustuvan negatiiviseen, mutta Q3:a parempaan volyymi/liikevaihtokehitykseen Q4:llä. Meidän ennuste Q4-liikevaihdolle on -3 % (Q3: -6 %) ja koko vuoden oik. käyttökatteelle 67 MEUR. Loka-marraskuun markkinadatan perusteella kvartaali on edennyt ohjeistuksen mukaisesti.
