Relais Group is an importer and wholesaler for the automotive industry. The Group focuses mainly on the development of vehicle electronic equipment for trucks. Examples of products that the company delivers include lighting products, applications for warning lights, lighting and camera systems, as well as other spare parts for heavy vehicles. The largest operations are in the Nordic and Baltic markets, with customers in the aftermarket industry.

Odotamme yhtiön liikevaihdon pysyneen kasvussa tehtyjen yritysostojen sekä hyvässä vauhdissa pysyneen orgaanisen kasvun myötä. Pidän Relaisin kohdalla pörssistä poistumista ostotarjouksen myötä melko epätodennäköisenä skenaariona. Luulen Relaisin konsernirakenteen ja toimintamallin rajaavan potentiaalisten ostajien kiinnostusta yhtiötä kohtaan. Relais muodostuu itsenäisistä huoltamoketjuista (Raskone, Skeppsbrons, STS) sekä tukkukauppa- ja tuoteyhtiöistä (ABR, Adita, AutoMateriell, Awimex, DSM, Helsingborgs Bildelsbutik, Huzells Tunga Delar, Lumise, Nordic Lift, SEC Set Ecofoss, Startax, Strands). Tuossa olisi ostajalla kädet täynnä töitä, kun näitä pääosin itsenäisinä liiketoimintoina toimineita yhtiöitä lähtisi kehittämään tai konsolidoimaan. Relaisin yksittäisten konserniyhtiöiden osalta irtaantumiset ovat mielestäni todennäköisempiä, vaikka sarjayhdistelijät lähtökohtaisesti pyrkivät omistamaan liiketoimintoja ’ikuisesti’. Yleisesti sarjayhdistelijän mallilla toimiville yhtiöille pörssielämä sopii mielestäni varsin hyvin. Likvidi osake tuo yhtiön työkalupakkiin lisää vaihtoehtoja jatkuviin yritysostotilanteisiin ja muuhun pääoman allokointiin, johon konsernin johto pystyy keskittymään keskimääräistä yhtiötä enemmän.
